  • 13 December 2016 Talk on "Assessing Impact of Feed-in-Tariff on Electric Grids in Developing World: A Socio-economic Perspective". In this talk I will discuss the impact socio-economic what-if simulator can have on designing tariffs for the developing world.

  • 23 Dec. 2015 Paper titled "CBSF: A Framework for Accurate Simulation of Appliance Data for Future Smart Grid Applications" accepted at ICAE 2015. This will be third time we will be attending this conference

  • 9 Sept. 2014 By the grace of All Mighty our paper "Forecasting for demand response in smart grids: An analysis on use of anthropologic and structural data and short term multiple loads forecasting." has been awarded the Best research paper award by HEC for the year 2012-13.

  • 29 August. 2014 I will be presenting my lecture preparation methods at the GIFT annual teachers training workshop. The crux of the talk is how to use the board and prepare for it before the class.

  • July. 2014 With the grace Allah Almighty, I have been awarded a US$25,000 grant through Pakistan Strategic Support Program's (PSSP) Competitive Grants Program (CGP). The grant is to conduct research to build a what-if simulator to support energy decision makers for policy decision. The simulator will be based on socio-economic modeling of consumer's willingness to pay for different energy technologies and energy management strategies.

  • 25 Feb. 2014 Our paper describing the architecture of the two systems that we developed has been accepted at the ICSE's SE4SG workshop. Now if only we can get a visa from India!

  • 5 August 2013 Paper titled "Integrating Renewables Economic Dispatch with Demand Side Management in Micro-grids: A Genetic Algorithm-based Approach", has been accepted for publication in Energy Efficiency.

  • 15 July 2013 Paper titled "Home Energy Management System Using NILM and Low-Cost HAN" accepted at 2013 International Conference on Smart Grid and Clean Energy Technologies.

  • 5 July 2013 We presented two papers at the fifth International Conference on Applied Energy (ICAE) 2013 in Pretoria, South Africa.

  • 25 June 2013
    Our paper title "An Empirical Investigation of V-I Trajectory based Load Signatures for Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring" has been accepted for publication in IEEE Transaction on Smart Grids.

  • 20 June 2013
    Dr. Naveed Arshad presented the paper titled "A Highly Configurable Simulator for Assessing Energy Usage" was presented at the Sustainability in Energy and Buildings, Fez, Morocco.

I am Harvard University South Asia Institute fellow for Fall 2016. I am a researcher in the field of autonomic computing focusing on new technologies in the domain of energy and their impact on the developing world. I am Assistant Professor at GIFT University Gujranwala.
