About Me
I am co-director of Center for Research in Modeling, Simulation and OptimizatioN (CRIMSON) at NUST where I hold the position of assistant professor in the department of computing in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS). My research is focused on self-adaptive and autonomic systems, systems which have the ability to self-manage themselves. I am applying the theory on three case studies: smart grids, ed-tech and smart agri. The details of the projects can be found here, here and here respectively.
Previously I was a fellow at Harvard's South Asia Institute. My research during the fellowship was focused on technology forecasting and identifying the key indicators needed to develop the research culture and industry in the domain of smart grids. This would assist in building the narrative to support policy makers ,particularly in Pakistan, to make better decision in incorporating smart grids technology.
I completed my Ph.D. from the department of computer science, school of science and engineering LUMS. My research in my thesis centered on constructing a demand side management framework for energy management in a city or region.
My passion, aside from research, is teaching. I believe that the teachers have the ability to mold the character of their pupils. I see this as a responsibility on my part to develop honest, confident and able citizens from the students that I teach.
